Week 1, Term 2

Welcome back to Term 2! I hope you all had a wonderful break and are looking forward to an exciting and busy term. We started off this Term by commemorating ANZAC day. Each class made a wreath to place on our schools front steps. This was followed by a special assembly with guest speakers.
On Tuesday we were lucky enough to have a hockey skills session from Aaron. He was a representative from the Nelson Hockey Association. We dribbled the ball around the court learning how to hold the stick and to keep the ball close by. Then we have a cool game of 'King of the Court', which was a bit like 'What's the Time Mr Woolfie?' We had a wonderful time. Take a look at the photos.

For the first 5 weeks of this term Ellen will be teaching in the afternoons as I am involved in a literacy programme within the school. Ellen will be covering our new topic 'Zero Waste', P.E. (Cross Country), Music, Art, Dance and Drama.

Next week...
Our sound will be oa.
Our tricky words will be she/shouted.
During maths time we will be looking at teen numbers.
Please remember our library day is Friday. Please assist your child in returning their book for this day.
We are soon to start our cross country training. Please ensure your child has suitable footwear.
On Wednesday morning we have our class trip to the York Landfill and the Recycling Centre. I will need all consent forms signed and returned to enable your child to attend. We have been requested that everyone has suitable footwear and warm clothing. It can be quite chilly in the valley early in the morning. Thank you for your continued support.
Have a happy and safe week!
